“Sustainable Development of Russian Regions: New Political Economy and new Model of Spatial Development”

Dear Colleagues and Partners,

On 20-21 April 2012, the Graduate School of Economics and Management, Ural
Federal University (Ekaterinburg, Russia) hosts the IX Annual
International Conference on the Problems of Economic Development in the
Modern World “Sustainable Development of Russian Regions: New Political
Economy and new Model of Spatial Development”. Working languages: Russian
and English.

The conference is held traditionally since 2004. It is annually attended
by prominent academia from Russia as well as from abroad and has gained a
status of one of the leading regional scientific economic forums in
Russia. Among the prominent participants during these years were: Yegor
Gaidar (Russian politician and economist, Acting Prime Minister of Russia
from 15 June 1992 to 14 December 1992),  Klara Sabirianova-Peter (Prof. of
University of North Carolina, the prizewinner of I National Award in
Applied Economics, 2010), Konstantin Sonin (Prof. of Russian Economic
School),Wladimir Andreff (Prof. of University Sorbonna, France),  and etc.

For several years, the conference has been organized by Ural State
University (merged with the Ural Federal University), State University -
Higher School of Economics, New Economic School, Graduate School of
Management St. Petersburg State University, and is supported by the
Government of Sverdlovsk region.

In 2010, the co-organizers of the conference also became The Institute of
World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) and the Central Economic
Mathematics Institute (The CEMI, Russian Academy of Sciences), and in 2011
- Institute of Economics, The Ural Branch of Russian Academy of Science.

Deadline for paper submission: 1, March, 2012.

Deadline for registration: April, 15, 2012.
